About this role

Leading a surgical nursing team at Ascension's Milwaukee location means managing both the clinical and operational side of patient care on your shift. You'll assess patient needs, assign work across licensed nurses and support staff, delegate tasks according to scope of practice, and ensure the care delivered meets population-specific standards. Beyond direct care coordination, you'll evaluate staff performance, provide coaching and feedback, participate in hiring decisions, and work with leadership on performance management.

The role requires an active Wisconsin RN license (or multistate compact equivalent) and BLS certification within your first month. You'll need at least one year of nursing experience specific to your role, though the position strongly prefers candidates with four years in the operating room and some background in progressive leadership. A bachelor's degree is also preferred. This is a full-time, in-office position suited to an experienced nurse ready to step into supervisory responsibilities in a surgical setting.
