About this role
Ascension's Police and Fire Clinic in Washington, DC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct clinical and administrative support in a specialized occupational health setting. You'll work alongside providers to conduct patient exams, collect vital signs, prepare treatment rooms, and manage the flow of documentation—from patient intake and medical history charting to transcribing orders for labs and medications. The role balances hands-on clinical work with the clerical backbone that keeps the clinic running smoothly: scheduling, records management, and supply coordination.
You'll need BLS certification within your first month and a Medical Assistant credential (from AAMA, NHA, ARMA, NAHP, NCCT, AALNC, or AMT) within 90 days of hire. A high school diploma or one year of relevant medical assistant experience qualifies you educationally. The position is full-time, in-office, Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, and requires DC residency. This is a good fit if you're a credentialed or soon-to-be-credentialed MA looking for stable clinical work in an occupational health environment with predictable hours.
