About this role
Ascension's operating room nursing position in Milwaukee calls for a clinically skilled RN who can manage both the technical and interpersonal demands of the surgical environment. You'll split your time between scrub and circulating duties—selecting instruments, monitoring patient vitals, assisting surgeons with hemostasis and wound management, and ensuring rooms and equipment are properly prepared. The role requires sharp attention to sterile technique, aseptic practice, and patient safety throughout the perioperative period.
To qualify, you'll need an active Wisconsin RN license (or current multi-state compact license), BLS certification within your first month, and Advanced Life Support within six months of hire. While one year of recent acute care OR experience is preferred, the position prioritizes demonstrated knowledge of perioperative standards and strong communication and teamwork skills. This is a full-time, in-office role at a large nonprofit Catholic health system recognized for supporting its workforce.
