About this role

Ascension's Chief Nursing Officer role in Milwaukee requires a senior nursing leader ready to shape clinical strategy and operational performance across the organization. You'll direct nursing management, develop and refine services and policies, and own budget and financial accountability alongside human resources oversight. This is an executive position demanding both clinical credibility and business acumen.

The role calls for a Wisconsin-registered nurse with a master's degree, at least five years of nursing experience and two years in a leadership capacity—though stronger candidates will bring ten and five years respectively. Beyond credentials, Ascension is seeking someone who can drive transformational change: advancing evidence-based practice, building and retaining high-performing teams, leading complex organizational initiatives, and partnering effectively with physicians and executive leadership to improve quality and patient safety outcomes.

If you thrive in strategic leadership, have a track record of operational excellence and culture-building, and want to influence healthcare delivery at a large nonprofit Catholic health system, this role offers the scope to do so. The position is based in-office in Milwaukee and full-time.
