About this role
Ascension's Labor and Delivery unit in Baltimore is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct clinical care during one of the most critical moments in patients' lives. You would manage the full scope of L&D nursing—monitoring maternal and fetal conditions in real time, coordinating care across obstetric and neonatal teams, and serving as the primary communicator between patients and physicians. The role demands strong clinical judgment, precise documentation, and the ability to advocate effectively for patients while maintaining the highest safety standards throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
To qualify, you'll need an active Maryland RN license (or compact state equivalent) and BLS certification obtained within your first month. The position requires a minimum of one year of acute care experience specifically in labor and delivery. While not required, additional certifications in neonatal resuscitation (AAP), the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program, and Advanced Life Support are preferred and would strengthen your candidacy.
This is a full-time, in-office position within Ascension, a large nonprofit Catholic health system. The role offers the opportunity to work within an established healthcare organization recognized for workplace culture and support, though the job description does not specify salary, benefits, or other compensation details.
