About this role

Ascension's cardiovascular operating room in Austin is seeking an experienced OR nurse to deliver direct patient care during surgical and invasive procedures. You'll work as both scrub and circulating nurse, managing sterile technique, instruments, and real-time patient monitoring while assisting surgeons with hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and positioning. The role requires coordinating comprehensive perioperative care across the full patient journey—before, during, and after procedures—and collaborating with the surgical team to maintain quality and safety standards.

This position demands a Texas-licensed RN with current BLS certification and Advanced Life Support obtained within six months of hire. The schedule is 36 hours per week, 11am to 11pm Monday through Friday, with on-call availability for CVOR cases. While two or more years of cardiovascular operating room circulating experience is preferred, the role is open to nurses meeting the core licensure and certification requirements.
