About this role
Ascension's Labor and Delivery float position in Nashville offers full-time work coordinating patient care across the obstetric unit. You'll implement and monitor care plans, communicate patient status to the healthcare team, execute physician and nursing orders, and help coordinate discharge planning. The float structure means you'll support different areas within labor and delivery as needed, requiring flexibility and strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
The role requires a current Tennessee RN license (or multi-state compact recognition) before your start date, plus three certifications to be completed within your first six months: Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation (AAP), and BLS Provider certification. While one or more years of labor and delivery experience is preferred, the position is open to nurses with an accredited nursing diploma or degree and the required licensure. This is a good fit if you're an RN seeking stability in a large nonprofit health system with established support structures, and you're either experienced in obstetrics or committed to building that specialty knowledge quickly.
