About this role
Ascension's Jacksonville pharmacy operation is seeking a credentialed pharmacy technician to handle the full range of technical and logistical work that keeps medications moving safely to patients. You'll prepare both hazardous and standard medications, manage automated dispensing systems and inventory, and troubleshoot supply chain issues—all while maintaining the accuracy that patient safety demands. A significant part of the role involves acting as the communication hub between the pharmacy, patients, and care teams, triaging calls and coordinating information to speed up care delivery.
The position also emphasizes newer service models: you'll help facilitate Ascension's Meds2Beds discharge program and home delivery initiatives, working directly with providers and patients to reduce medication turnaround times. This blend of technical precision, logistics management, and patient-facing communication means the role suits someone who is detail-oriented but also comfortable being a reliable point of contact for multiple departments and patients.
You'll need either PTCB or Florida Board of Pharmacy credentials before your start date, plus relevant education or experience—a high school diploma with two years of pharmacy work, an associate degree, or four years of direct pharmacy experience. This is a full-time, in-office position in Jacksonville.
