About this role

Ascension's high-risk obstetric nursing role in Indianapolis demands expertise in managing critically ill pregnant and postpartum patients. You'll deliver advanced critical care—monitoring hemodynamic stability, managing complex medication drips, and interpreting advanced fetal monitoring—while keeping the patient's health preferences and perspective at the center of decision-making, especially during emergencies. The work extends beyond crisis management to include coordinating transitions to stability, planning complex discharges, and providing ongoing support to patients and families after acute events.

This position requires a current Indiana RN license and BLS certification within 30 days of hire; Advanced Life Support certification is preferred. You'll work within an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and specialists at a large nonprofit Catholic health system. The role is full-time and based on-site in Indianapolis, suited for a nurse with the clinical judgment and communication skills to navigate high-acuity obstetric cases and support families through medical crises.
