About this role

Ascension's joint replacement surgical tech role in Nashville demands someone who thrives in the operating room as an extension of the surgical team. You'll work in orthopedic procedures where anticipation and precision define the work—positioning instruments before they're requested, maintaining sterile field integrity, and executing flawless instrument and sponge counts that serve as the final safeguard for patient safety. This is hands-on work that requires both technical mastery and the mental discipline to stay three steps ahead.

You'll need current NBSTSA certification and BLS Provider status (obtainable within 30 days of hire). Tennessee's regulations allow some flexibility for experienced technologists, but the preference is clear: orthopedic or joint surgery experience will strengthen your candidacy. The baseline education requirement is a high school diploma plus two years of surgical tech work, though an associate or technical degree can substitute for some experience.

Ascension is a large nonprofit Catholic health system with 99,000+ associates. They emphasize an inclusive workplace culture and are recognized as a military-friendly employer and top healthcare workplace. This is a full-time, in-office position in a established healthcare environment.
