About this role
Ascension's Med/Surg unit in Nashville is seeking a registered nurse to provide acute care for cardiac and general medical-surgical patients. The role centers on telemetry monitoring—identifying and responding to rhythm changes in real time—while administering cardiac medications and executing physician-ordered care plans. You'll assess patients continuously, manage their vital signs and recovery, and coordinate transitions with cardiologists, hospitalists, and discharge planners to move patients safely toward home or step-down settings.
Beyond clinical care, you'll educate patients and families on heart-healthy practices, medication adherence, and warning signs to help prevent readmissions. This is in-office, full-time work within a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its associates.
You'll need an active RN license from Tennessee or a compact state before your start date, plus BLS certification within 30 days of hire. ACLS certification is required within your first three months on the unit.
