About this role
Ascension's Cardiac Echocardiography Supervisor role in Indianapolis combines clinical leadership with operational management in a 24/7 diagnostic environment. You would oversee daily staffing and scheduling across the department, manage performance and development for a multidisciplinary team, and provide clinical input on hiring and organizational decisions. The position requires balancing immediate patient care priorities with longer-term departmental strategy—from optimizing clinician-to-patient ratios and streamlining workflow to troubleshooting diagnostic equipment and conducting supply chain audits.
The role demands a clinical background in cardiac imaging or a related radiologic specialty, with BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. You'll need one of several credential pathways—such as Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI or ARDMS), Cardiographic Technologist (CCI), or a radiologic technologist specialization—most obtainable within your first year. The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma plus two years of relevant experience, though an associate degree or five years of direct cardiac echocardiography experience strengthens your candidacy. Ascension particularly values candidates with five or more years in cardiac echocardiography and at least two years in a leadership capacity.
This is a full-time, in-office position within a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its 99,000+ associates and recognized as a top healthcare employer.
