Description
Deliver Safe Direct Care: Provide hands-on patient care and execute physician orders safely in full compliance with organizational standards and guidelines.
Track & Communicate Status: Maintain accurate, detailed records of patient progress and communicate status updates promptly to the healthcare team.
Coordinate Interdisciplinary Care: Partner with doctors, specialists, and therapists to deliver seamless treatment and organize safe, well-planned patient discharges.
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

About this role
Ascension's pediatric acute care nursing role in Austin centers on direct patient care delivery—administering treatment, executing physician orders, and maintaining meticulous clinical documentation. You'll work within a coordinated care model, communicating regularly with physicians, specialists, and therapists to ensure continuity of treatment and safe patient transitions out of acute care.
The position requires a Texas-registered nurse credential in place before your start date, along with BLS certification obtained within your first month. Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is preferred but not required.
