About this role
Primary Water Solutions, now part of Celnor Group's Safety & Compliance division, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in the water hygiene and compliance sector. This role demands someone with established credibility in the water industry—whether through background in Legionella management, water treatment, or related compliance services. You'll own the full sales cycle from pipeline generation through contract close, managing relationships with facilities managers, estates teams, contractors and senior decision-makers while maintaining accurate records and keeping pace with market developments.
The day-to-day involves identifying new opportunities, attending client meetings and site visits, understanding customer requirements, and preparing proposals and presentations. You'll develop both new accounts and expand existing ones, working closely with operational and technical teams to ensure smooth delivery once business is won. This is autonomous work—you'll manage your own pipeline and maintain momentum independently, but with the backing of a growing national group and internal teams who support your commercial success.
The ideal candidate brings proven business development or account management experience specifically within the water industry, combined with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. You'll need commercial confidence, a full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel. This is not an entry-level role; the expectation is that you already understand water compliance requirements and can credibly engage clients on technical and commercial matters from day one.
