About this role
North Point Technology is seeking a mid-level SQL Server DBA to join a small team supporting the U.S. Government Publishing Office's database infrastructure. Working remotely, you'll manage SQL Server instances, clusters, and related database platforms alongside a senior DBA, handling everything from routine maintenance and patching to failover testing, backups, and restores. You'll also support multiple database systems including MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS Access, troubleshoot application issues across SharePoint environments, and monitor system health using Idera and SolarWinds tools.
The role requires at least four years of hands-on database administration experience with a strong foundation in SQL Server, SQL Clustering, and T-SQL scripting. You should be comfortable working independently, managing ServiceNow tickets and RFCs within defined SLAs, and communicating clearly with stakeholders. Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, or other open-source databases is valuable, as is familiarity with federal support environments. The position is full-time and contingent on contract award, with an anticipated start date of November 16, 2026. You'll work standard hours between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM ET with periodic after-hours availability for scheduled maintenance windows.
