About this role

North Point Technology is seeking a mid-level Oracle DBA to join a small team supporting the Government Publishing Office. Working remotely, you'll handle day-to-day database administration alongside a senior DBA, managing Oracle environments through backup and recovery operations, patching, failover testing, and performance tuning. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting Oracle and MS Access issues, assisting users with database configuration, processing ServiceNow tickets and change requests, and monitoring systems with Idera and SolarWinds.

The role requires at least four years of database administration experience with strong Oracle fundamentals—specifically RMAN, PL/SQL, and Grid—plus hands-on experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access. You should be comfortable scripting and automating routine tasks and have demonstrated success building and managing standalone Oracle databases. An Oracle certification (OCA or OCP) and prior federal support experience are valued but not required. Note that this is a full-time contingent position with an anticipated start of November 16, 2026, working standard hours between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM ET, with periodic after-hours work scheduled for maintenance windows.
