About this role

North Point Technology is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to manage enterprise database infrastructure supporting the Government Publishing Office. Working remotely, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of GPO's Oracle environment—both on-premises and cloud—including system administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability design. The role involves hands-on technical work across Oracle Grid, RMAN, and PL/SQL, alongside troubleshooting at the database and application layers, managing change requests through ServiceNow, and mentoring a mid-level DBA team member. You'll also monitor system health using Idera and SolarWinds, lead patching cycles, and deliver weekly activity reports.

This position requires at least eight years of Oracle DBA experience with demonstrated expertise in Grid, RMAN, PL/SQL, and HA/DR architecture. You should be comfortable working independently, have working knowledge of other database platforms (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MS Access), and communicate effectively with both technical staff and management. An Oracle certification (OCP or OCM) and prior federal or large enterprise support experience are preferred. The role is full-time and contingent on contract award, with an anticipated start of November 16, 2026. Standard hours are 8 hours daily within 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM ET, with periodic after-hours work required for patching and reboots.
