About this role
Capco is seeking a Senior Consultant to help financial services clients build and maintain robust cryptographic defenses across their technology estates. You would work directly with banks and payments firms to assess where encryption, key management, and certificate infrastructure fall short of requirements, then guide teams through developing stronger governance frameworks and executing remediation. The work spans traditional areas like TLS, PKI, and database encryption alongside emerging concerns such as post-quantum cryptography and cryptographic agility.
The role demands hands-on expertise in applied cryptography and enterprise data protection—you'll need to understand symmetric and asymmetric encryption, x509 certificates, key lifecycle management, and how to protect data both at rest and in transit across on-premises and cloud environments. Beyond technical depth, you'll translate security findings into actionable plans for non-technical stakeholders, work through audit findings, and help complex organizations close gaps in their cryptographic controls. Experience with enterprise certificate management tools like Venafi or Microsoft ADCS, database-specific encryption, and financial services compliance work would strengthen your candidacy.
Based in Toronto on a hybrid schedule (four days on-site), this is a permanent role paying between $118,000 and $152,000 annually, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses. Capco offers comprehensive health and disability coverage from day one, RRSP matching, parental leave benefits, and a business coach to support your development.
