About this role
True Anomaly is building autonomous spacecraft and space-based systems for U.S. defense, and this role sits at the security center of that mission. As a Staff Enterprise Security Engineer, you'd own threat detection and incident response across the software systems that control these platforms—work that directly impacts national security outcomes. This is a hands-on position requiring you to architect security hardening, conduct vulnerability assessments, monitor security logs, and respond to incidents, while also collaborating with engineering teams to embed security into the development lifecycle from the start.
The role demands at least eight years in security engineering with deep expertise in SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning, and endpoint protection tools. You'll need strong fundamentals in enterprise infrastructure (both on-premises and cloud), the ability to code in at least one language like Python or Rust, and ideally relevant certifications such as CISSP or CISM. Prior experience in startups or defense contracting is valued, as is eligibility for or an active TS/SCI clearance. You should be comfortable working independently on greenfield projects while rotating on-call for security events.
Note that this is a temporary position requiring in-office work in Denver, Long Beach, or Washington D.C., and you must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident due to ITAR export regulations. The salary range in Denver is $160,000–$235,000, plus equity, comprehensive healthcare, and flexible time off.
