About this role
Avride's Remote Assistance Operators work from a dedicated operations center in North Austin, monitoring live feeds and real-time data from autonomous vehicles on public roads. You'll identify situations requiring human intervention, troubleshoot issues, and document events—essentially serving as a remote safety and operations layer as the company transitions toward fully driverless fleets. The role combines active monitoring with problem-solving, requiring you to use the Remote Command interface, flag anomalies, and participate in post-incident reviews that feed into the company's growing edge-case knowledge base.
This position suits someone with at least a year of hands-on experience in live operations—whether in autonomous vehicle fleets, teleoperations, dispatch, or similar real-time monitoring roles. You'll need comfort with ticketing systems, the ability to troubleshoot technical issues, strong written communication, and a solid grasp of traffic laws. A background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or transportation technology is valued but not required; what matters most is your ability to stay alert, document carefully, and escalate effectively.
The role offers shift flexibility across AM and PM windows (5:30am–12:00am depending on the week), all on-site in Austin at $25/hour. Benefits include employer-subsidized healthcare, commuter pre-tax benefits, disability and life insurance, and a 401k. This is a full-time contract position staffed through an Employer of Record partner, with no remote work or relocation support available—local Austin candidates only.
