About this role

True Anomaly is building autonomous spacecraft and space-based interceptors for U.S. defense, and this role puts you in charge of the propulsion systems that make them work. As Engineering Manager for Propulsion Vehicle Subsystem, you'll own both the technical strategy and the team delivering propulsion across multiple vehicles—including Jackal and next-generation interceptors on aggressive timelines. This is hands-on leadership: you'll mentor propulsion leads, approve designs and analyses, manage vendor performance, and drive the complex trade-offs between technical rigor, cost, and schedule.

The role demands someone with at least 10 years in aerospace or defense propulsion engineering and 3+ years leading people. You'll directly supervise a team of propulsion engineers through requirements, design, analysis, and test, while building processes that let them move fast without sacrificing safety or quality. You need the technical depth to jump into decisions yourself and the leadership skill to develop engineers who can own their own work. Experience with hypergolic propellants, space vehicle programs, or scaling teams in a startup environment would strengthen your candidacy.

This is a temporary, in-office position in the Denver area, with a salary range of $165,000 to $290,000 plus equity, comprehensive health coverage, and flexible time off. U.S. citizenship is required due to government contracts, and an active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
