About this role

Leading health and welfare financial strategy at a consulting firm requires deep expertise in employee benefit plan design and the ability to translate complex analysis into revenue-generating client relationships. This role at Acturhire seeks a senior director with 10+ years of experience in health and actuarial consulting or brokerage work—someone who has consistently managed and grown client portfolios while staying current with evolving plan strategy and regulatory developments. You'll need to demonstrate executive presence, strong communication skills, and the capacity to influence senior stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.

The position demands both technical rigor and business acumen. You should be comfortable leading data analytics projects, applying past experience to predict which analytical approaches will work, and developing new intellectual capital within the firm. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential, and you'll need to obtain a State Life and Health license within your first 90 days. An actuarial designation with current continuing education is preferred but not required. The Chicago-based role operates on a hybrid schedule and offers a competitive compensation package with base salary ranging from $140,000 to $230,000, plus annual incentive bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits including health coverage, retirement plans, and flexible leave options.
