About this role
Resource Environmental Solutions is hiring a Restoration Operator to carry out field-level ecological work across the Midwest through mid-April 2027. You'll operate a range of equipment—skid steers, tractors, ATVs, chainsaws, and herbicide applicators—to clear invasive species, plant native vegetation, manage erosion, and maintain solar fields. The work is hands-on and physically demanding, requiring you to lift 50 pounds regularly, navigate uneven terrain, and troubleshoot equipment issues in the field. Some projects involve travel with 2–4 night stays; the company covers lodging and per diem.
The role suits someone with at least a year of experience in restoration, landscaping, or agriculture, plus foundational knowledge of small engine maintenance and repair. A valid driver's license and commercial pesticide applicator license (or willingness to obtain one) are required. You should be comfortable reading project plans, working independently with minimal supervision, and communicating clearly within a team. Bonus qualifications include burn certification, familiarity with native and invasive plant species, and a Class-A CDL.
If you're drawn to outdoor work with visible environmental impact and enjoy solving practical problems with equipment and land management, this seasonal position offers the chance to contribute directly to ecosystem restoration while working alongside people committed to the same mission.
