About this role

VEGA Americas is seeking an Industry Sales Specialist for its refining sector based in Houston. The role blends direct sales development with internal mentoring and thought leadership, requiring someone equally comfortable closing deals and coaching sellers. You'll identify and cultivate new customers across the refining industry, manage key accounts, and pursue large capital projects while working closely with VEGA's Global Projects team. About half your time will involve overnight travel to customer sites and industry events.

Beyond selling, you'll serve as a subject matter expert on refining applications, instrumentation, and competitive landscape—sharing that knowledge through formal training, conference speaking, white papers, and social media to position VEGA as a technology leader. You'll also work with sales management to mentor underperforming sellers, observing their customer interactions and providing coaching on application knowledge and sales approach.

The position requires a bachelor's degree and two to four years of experience in process instrumentation within the refining industry, or equivalent background combining education and hands-on experience. Success here depends on strong relationship-building skills, technical credibility in the refining space, and comfort moving between customer-facing sales work and internal development responsibilities.
