About this role
At The Ritz-Carlton's San Francisco property, this Events Manager role sits at the center of the event lifecycle—coordinating between sales, operations, and customers to deliver seamless experiences for mid-sized to large events. You'll manage logistics from initial documentation through post-event follow-up, handling room blocks, billing accuracy, and operational problem-solving while maintaining the property's service standards. The position requires you to be present and visible throughout each event phase, acting as the primary liaison who ensures nothing falls through the cracks as responsibility transfers between teams.
The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of event management experience and either a high school diploma or a hospitality-related degree. You'll need strong communication skills—both written and verbal—to coordinate across departments and with clients, plus the judgment to identify revenue opportunities through upselling and to adapt to current event design trends. This is fundamentally a customer-facing role that demands attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the interpersonal skills to lead pre- and post-event meetings, handle complaints, and empower staff to deliver exceptional service.
This full-time, in-office position suits someone who thrives in a structured, standards-driven environment and enjoys the variety of managing multiple events at different stages simultaneously. You'll work directly with Ritz-Carlton's established procedures and collaborate closely with housekeeping, catering, audio-visual, and sales teams to create polished guest experiences.
