About this role

At Tower Research Capital, a quantitative trading firm with 25+ years of success, this Data Center Engineer role supports the infrastructure that powers systematic trading operations across Asia-Pacific. Based remotely but serving the Hong Kong and Singapore regions, you'd own the physical and operational side of the firm's data center footprint—installing and configuring equipment, managing server lifecycles, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and coordinating with both local and global teams. The work spans hands-on tasks like cabling and fiber optic maintenance alongside inventory management, documentation, and process improvement across APAC infrastructure.

The role calls for someone with foundational knowledge of data center operations, networking, and Linux, plus practical experience with patch cables and fiber optics. You'll need fluency in English and Mandarin, strong communication skills, and the analytical mindset to troubleshoot hardware faults and automate routine tasks. Flexibility is essential—the position requires availability outside standard hours to access data centers and coordinate with the systems team, plus regional and international travel across Asia. Basic shell scripting or cloud exposure, and familiarity with Cisco systems, are advantages.

This is a full-time position that suits someone self-motivated and genuinely interested in technology infrastructure, comfortable with physical work and able to lift 60 pounds, who thrives in a results-driven environment. Tower offers generous time off, wellness benefits, daily meals, and a collaborative culture without unnecessary hierarchy—a setup designed to let talented people do their best work.
