About this role
At The Ritz-Carlton's Boca del Rio property, this kitchen supervisor role bridges culinary execution and team leadership. You would oversee cooks and kitchen staff across food preparation, presentation, and safety compliance—managing everything from portion control and garnish standards to food displays and inventory. The position requires you to coordinate with the broader Food & Beverage team, communicate menu specials and stock issues to service staff, and handle the operational details that keep a luxury kitchen running smoothly, including maintaining food safety logs and flagging quality concerns to management.
The supervisory component is substantial. You would assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of kitchen staff, as well as coaching and motivating your team toward consistent standards. This demands both culinary knowledge and people skills—the ability to lead by example while maintaining the professional appearance and service mindset expected at a Ritz-Carlton property.
The ideal candidate brings 4 to 6 years of kitchen experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, ideally with a technical or trade qualification. You should be comfortable with physical demands—standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and moving around a busy kitchen—and committed to safety protocols and company policies. This is a full-time, in-office role in Veracruz, Mexico.
