About this role
The Law Office of Bryan Fagan is seeking a paralegal to own family law and estate planning matters from start to finish across their 14-office Texas network. You'll handle substantive work—drafting pleadings and discovery responses, tracing complex financial assets, flagging valuation issues, and preparing trial materials alongside attorneys. This is hands-on case management that requires both technical precision and the judgment to navigate emotionally charged litigation professionally.
You'll need at least two years of Texas family law paralegal experience, with demonstrated fluency in e-filing systems, Clio or MyCase, and local court rules. The role rewards self-starters who can work independently and mentor others within a team structure. The firm emphasizes that this is not a document-processing position—they're looking for someone who understands the ethical boundaries of legal work and can think strategically about case outcomes.
Compensation ranges from $50,000 to $75,000 base, with a billable hour bonus plan that can add up to $35,000 annually, paid each paycheck. Benefits include 401(k) matching, full medical/dental/vision coverage, PTO, and a hybrid work arrangement designed around work-life balance. The firm provides a week of training and supports continuing legal education. This is a full-time role in Houston with genuine hybrid flexibility—suited for someone seeking substantive paralegal work without the business development pressure of larger firms.
