· Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and contract management skills, applied across a broad and diverse supplier base.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building trusted relationships at every level to shape and facilitate business outcomes.
Valued Experience
· Professional certification such as CPSM or CSCP.
· Experience with enterprise procurement systems, ERP platforms, and data visualization tools.
· Background in the sports, events, or entertainment industry.
· Skill in influencing multiple stakeholders and suppliers across concurrent sourcing events.

About this role
LA28 is building the procurement operation for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games, and this role puts you at the center of that effort. As Procurement Category Manager, you'll develop sourcing strategies and execute competitive bidding processes for one assigned category—whether that's venues, technology, catering, or another critical area. You'll analyze supply chain data to drive cost savings and mitigate delivery risks, working across internal departments to translate their needs into supplier agreements that hold up under the pressure of Games time.
This contract position requires at least five years of strategic sourcing or category management experience, ideally on complex, time-sensitive programs. You'll need a bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, or a related field, plus strong data analysis skills, negotiation ability, and the capacity to influence stakeholders and suppliers simultaneously. Professional certifications like CPSM or CSCP, familiarity with ERP systems, or prior sports and events industry experience would strengthen your candidacy.
The role is based in downtown Los Angeles and requires full-time on-site work in an open office environment. Hours will extend beyond standard business days, particularly as the Games approach. The salary range is $88,000 to $115,000 annually. This is a contract position with no relocation assistance, though LA28 welcomes applications from candidates outside the area who can commit to working in-office.
