About this role
Teneo's Melbourne office is building out its Asia-Pacific strategy and communications practice, and this Consultant role sits at the centre of that growth. You would join a team delivering research-backed advisory across a broad remit: financial communications, M&A and restructuring support, crisis management, media relations, ESG, and government affairs. The work spans desktop research and analysis, media monitoring and journalist mapping, content creation for multiple channels, and hands-on account support—all in service of Fortune 100 and FTSE 100 clients alongside other major corporations and institutions.
The role demands someone comfortable moving between analytical rigour and creative output, equally at home pulling together financial communications materials as scanning geopolitical trends or building a media landscape brief. You'll need strong fundamentals in research, writing, and presentation (particularly PowerPoint and Excel), plus the maturity and initiative to work across client teams, spot opportunities proactively, and learn on the job. The position explicitly values your ability to adopt AI-enabled tools while maintaining critical judgment—a signal of how the firm expects you to work.
This suits someone with 1–2 years in corporate communications, journalism, banking, consulting, or public policy who has a genuine interest in geopolitics and macro events, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the confidence to build relationships across a professional services environment. International experience and a postgraduate qualification are bonuses. The role is full-time and in-office in Melbourne.
