About this role
Working as an electrical intern at CannonDesign means joining a multidisciplinary engineering team on real projects across commercial, education, health, and sports facilities. You'll work under licensed engineers on the full design cycle—from concept through detailed documentation—focusing on lighting, power distribution, communications, and fire alarm systems. The role includes preparing technical documents, reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site visits to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress, which means you should be comfortable with physical walkthroughs of job sites.
You'll need to be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering with strong communication skills. Experience with design software like Revit MEP or SKM Power Tools is preferred but not required. The position is remote-based in Buffalo and pays $22.25 to $26.25 hourly, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses and a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, flexible scheduling, and a 401k. For students who perform well, this internship has potential to convert into a full-time entry-level role.
