About this role
66degrees, an AI transformation consulting firm, is looking for an HR Coordinator to join their Chicago office on a six-month contract basis. This is an operational role that sits at the center of HR activity—you'll manage HRIS data and employee records, coordinate onboarding and offboarding workflows, handle compliance documentation, and serve as the first point of contact for employee questions about policies and benefits. The work spans routine administrative execution, cross-functional coordination with IT and finance, and identifying ways to streamline processes as the team grows.
The ideal candidate has one to three years of HR coordinator or administrative experience, ideally in professional services or consulting. You'll need hands-on proficiency with an HRIS platform like Rippling or Workday, a solid grasp of US employment law and I-9 compliance, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with precision while handling confidential information responsibly. Strong communication skills and a customer-service orientation matter as much as organizational rigor here. A bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or equivalent experience is expected. Note that this is a contract position with immediate availability preferred, and the company cannot sponsor visas.
