About this role
Electrosoft Services is seeking a Cybersecurity Threat Hunter to proactively identify threats lurking within federal networks. You'll assume adversaries are already present and hunt for them by analyzing raw logs and network data, working alongside detection and incident response teams to generate leads. The role combines investigative work—identifying unusual behavior and cross-referencing enterprise activity against external threat intelligence—with strategic development of new hunting approaches and automation tools to catch sophisticated attackers. You'll also lead incident response efforts when critical compromises are discovered.
This position requires five years of hands-on experience in threat intelligence, incident response, penetration testing, reverse engineering, or digital forensics, plus three years analyzing attacker techniques across attack levels. You need solid knowledge of multiple operating systems, comfort working with large datasets, and proficiency in tools like Splunk alongside scripting in Python or PowerShell. Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework and the ability to translate threat intelligence into actionable findings and clear documentation are essential. A current DOD Top Secret Clearance is required at the time of proposal submission, with eligibility for IT-I Critical Sensitive or Tier 5 clearance.
