About this role

Kelso Building Services is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to service commercial and industrial equipment across the North Carolina and South Carolina markets. You'll diagnose and repair a range of systems—rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, and heat pumps—while performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical issues. The role requires interpreting technical documentation, maintaining service records, and communicating findings clearly to clients and colleagues, all while adhering to safety codes and company standards.

This position calls for at least three years of hands-on HVAC service experience, EPA 608 certification, and ideally some exposure to VRF systems. You'll need strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and a valid driver's license for traveling between job sites. NATE certification and prior commercial HVAC background are valued but not required.

The role offers an hourly rate up to $45 based on experience, health and dental coverage, a 401(k) match, paid time off, and access to professional training opportunities. Note that despite the "remote" in the title, this is an in-office position requiring travel to client locations in the region.
