Description

About the company

Steadfast Health was founded to establish a new standard of substance use disorder (SUD) care. Recognizing that traditional treatment methods often fall short of reaching patients when they’re most in need, Steadfast is relentlessly focused on making low-barrier, high quality care accessible to all.

We provide Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT), MOUD, and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) level services, so patients can receive medical care and structured therapeutic support in one coordinated setting.

We know that the journey to recovery is unique for every individual, and our patient-centered approach ensures we meet patients where they are, providing evidence-based therapies with unwavering support in a compassionate environment that fosters healing and growth. We are growing rapidly and building a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to fulfilling our mission – join us!

About the role

Our Nashville clinic opened in March 2026 and has grown significantly in a short time. This is a new, growth-driven position, not a backfill, and you'll be joining a clinic where demand for care is already strong.

We're looking for an experienced APP to practice at the top of their license in a supportive, evidence-based addiction medicine model. You'll join two other APPs as part of a multidisciplinary clinic team that includes three therapists, a medical assistant, an LPN, a Peer Recovery Specialist, and a Clinic Manager. A Medical Director is available for collaborating physician support.

With streamlined workflows and dedicated MA and LPN support, you can spend more of your day doing what matters most: caring for your patients without distraction. We offer CME funding, mentorship, and leadership pathways, in a sustainable work environment that truly supports work-life balance. Here, you're not just part of a care team. You're helping shape the future of addiction treatment.

  • Protected midday break: A one-hour block in the middle of the day.
  • Patient visits: Initial visits are 60 minutes; follow-up visits are 20 minutes.
  • Panel size: Maximum caseload of approximately 80–100 patients, so you have time to build real relationships and deliver thoughtful care.

Why Steadfast?

  • Medical, dental & vision insurance, plus 100% employer-paid short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401(k) with up to 5% company match
  • 29 days off a year to start (PTO, floating holidays, paid volunteer days), increasing on your anniversary — plus 4 Re-Fuel Days annually for mental health, rest, or CEU activities
  • $2,000 annual CEU stipend and ongoing paid training
  • Free, confidential EAP access to therapy, legal, financial, and wellness resources
  • Protected time built into your day for recharging, huddles, care planning, and admin work
  • MA/LPN and Peer Recovery Specialist support, collaborative care model with physician backup, and manageable panel sizes so you can practice at the top of your license
  • Extra perks: SoFi student loan interest rate discount, Rightway Health Concierge, a year of free pet telehealth through Pawp, and Perkspot discount marketplace
  • Soulside AI documentation support — because your energy belongs with patients, not paperwork
  • We believe lived experience with recovery is a strength, not a barrier — many of our team bring personal or family experience with addiction and recovery, and we welcome candidates in recovery to apply
  • Ground-floor opportunity to help shape how we grow

About this role

Steadfast Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their addiction medicine team in Nashville as a volunteer clinician. You'll work at the top of your license within an evidence-based, low-barrier SUD care model, diagnosing and managing substance use disorders alongside associated comorbidities. The role emphasizes patient-centered care grounded in motivational interviewing, with close mentorship from addiction medicine specialists and collaborative support from medical assistants, peer recovery specialists, and therapists.

This position suits providers with at least two years of clinical experience—ideally outpatient-based—who have strong foundational knowledge of SUD diagnoses, medications, and treatment approaches. You should be comfortable managing a full patient panel independently, working with diverse and often marginalized populations, and staying current with evolving addiction treatment evidence. The ideal candidate brings flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and genuine commitment to Steadfast's harm-reductionist mission; the organization explicitly welcomes applicants with lived experience of recovery.

Steadfast supports sustainable practice through streamlined workflows, dedicated MA support, protected admin and recharge time, and mentorship pathways. You'll receive a $2,000 annual CME stipend, comprehensive health insurance with employer-paid disability and life coverage, 29 days off annually (plus four additional mental health days), and access to documentation support technology. The Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule includes occasional inpatient consult coverage as needed.
