Get to Know Our Team

The Data department , based in Bangkok , oversees all of Agoda’s data-related requirements. Our ultimate goal is to enable and increase the use of data in the company through creative approaches and the implementation of powerful resources such as operational and analytical databases, queue systems, BI tools, and data science technology. We hire the brightest minds from around the world to take on this challenge and equip them with the knowledge and tools that contribute to their personal growth and success while supporting our company’s culture of diversity and experimentation. The role the Data team plays at Agoda is critical as business users, product managers, engineers, and many others rely on us to empower their decision making. We are equally dedicated to our customers by improving their search experience with faster results and protecting them from any fraudulent activities. Data is interesting only when you have enough of it, and we have plenty. This is what drives up the challenge as part of the Data department, but also the reward.


What You’ll Do

  • Identify and solve high-leverage problems across Agoda.
  • Translate ambiguous problems into measurable objectives and technical solutions.
  • Lead the design and deployment of ML, AI, and analytical solutions.
  • Own solutions from problem definition and experimentation through production deployment, measurement, and iteration.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to shape strategy and roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the data-science community.


What You’ll Need

  • Extensive hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, and statistics.
  • Experience delivering production models with measurable customer or business impact.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills; experience with large-scale data and ML platforms.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.


Nice to Have

  • Experience in online travel, e-commerce, search, ranking, recommendations, pricing, or personalization.
  • Experience with production LLM or generative-AI systems.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related field.

About this role

Agoda's Data department is looking for a senior data scientist to tackle high-impact problems across the travel platform, working from their Singapore office. You'd own the full lifecycle of machine learning and analytical solutions—from defining ambiguous business challenges as measurable objectives through to production deployment, measurement, and ongoing refinement. This role involves both hands-on technical work and leadership, as you'd mentor other data scientists while partnering with product, engineering, and business leaders to shape data strategy and roadmaps.

The position demands deep expertise in data science, machine learning, and statistics, backed by a track record of shipping production models that moved the needle for customers or the business. You'll need strong Python and SQL fundamentals and experience working at scale with large datasets and ML platforms. Equally important is the ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Background in travel, e-commerce, search, recommendations, or pricing would be valuable, as would hands-on experience with production LLM or generative AI systems. An advanced degree in a quantitative field is preferred but not stated as required.
