This is a Hybrid role, reporting to the Datacenter Deployment Manager in the Network Infrastructure department. In this role, you will expand and optimize our global cloud security network by staging, provisioning, and maintaining high-performance bare metal hardware and infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to validate build activities, troubleshoot complex staging environments, and continuously improve deployment processes.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
-
Provision new hardware and network devices in a staging environment to expand and supplement the global network
-
Troubleshoot issues within the build environment and repair or replace server and network components and infrastructure
-
Collaborate with maintenance, network, install, and platform engineering teams to execute and validate build activities
-
Engage and assist in optimizing data center deployment processes and workflows
-
Visit the Singapore integration center as needed to manage physical infrastructure and validate staging readiness
Who You Are (Success Profile)
-
You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful.
-
You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. True ownership involves leveraging dynamic range: the ability to navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
-
You are a problem-solver. You love running towards the challenges because you are laser-focused on finding the solution, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.
-
You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
-
You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and are obsessed with your own development, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose.

-
7-10 years experience working in a hardware automation or build environment
-
Experience translating cloud workload to bare metal platform requirements

About this role
Zscaler is building the world's largest cloud security platform, and this role sits at the heart of that infrastructure. As a Senior Data Center Operations Engineer in Singapore, you'd own the physical foundation of their global network—provisioning bare metal hardware, troubleshooting staging environments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate and optimize deployment processes. The work spans hands-on infrastructure management (servers, network devices, out-of-band systems) alongside strategic process improvement, with occasional travel to the Singapore integration center.
This role demands 7–10 years in hardware automation or build environments, deep knowledge of server and network architecture, and strong Linux/Unix command-line skills. You'll need to translate cloud workload requirements into bare metal platform specifications and be comfortable with tools like ILO, iDRAC, and IPMI. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with ownership mentality—someone who thrives in ambiguity, sees problems as opportunities, and can move fluidly between hands-on troubleshooting and strategic optimization. Experience with AI/ML technologies, scripting (BASH or Python), and build automation tools like Ansible would strengthen your candidacy.
The hybrid arrangement offers flexibility while keeping you connected to the physical infrastructure you're managing. Zscaler provides standard benefits including health plans, time off, parental leave, retirement options, and education reimbursement.
