About this role
At CompTech Computer Technologies, this Level III role places you as a senior technical resource supporting the Defense Health Agency at Joint Base San Antonio–Lackland. You'll handle the complex incidents that escalate beyond standard help desk support—diagnosing and resolving intricate hardware, software, application, and connectivity issues across an enterprise environment. This is hands-on troubleshooting work that demands both depth of technical knowledge and the ability to own problems through to resolution, often coordinating with system administrators, network teams, cybersecurity personnel, and application specialists to get there.
The position expects six years of progressive IT support experience, with demonstrated strength in advanced diagnostics, enterprise ticketing systems, and root-cause analysis. You'll need either a bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience, plus one required certification (CompTIA CASP+, (ISC)² CISSP, or another advanced credential in cybersecurity, systems administration, or networking). An active Secret security clearance is mandatory. Beyond technical skills, the role values clear communication with both technical teams and end users, the ability to document findings thoroughly, and a mindset oriented toward improving processes and building knowledge resources for the broader team.
