About this role
Silicon Ranch is building a modern Remote Operations Center in Nashville to monitor and control utility-scale solar plants across North America, and this role sits at the center of that operation. You would work 24/7 shifts in a NERC GOP-2 compliant control room, managing real-time monitoring, remote switching, and plant controls using SCADA and EMS platforms. The position demands precision and accountability—you'll coordinate with grid operators, field teams, and engineering while maintaining strict compliance with NERC Reliability Standards, executing three-part communication protocols, and documenting every operational decision.
This is a front-line role that blends operational responsibility with analytical growth. Beyond real-time monitoring and incident response, you'll extract SCADA data and build Power BI dashboards to support performance analytics and trend analysis. The company explicitly positions this as a pathway into senior operations, compliance engineering, or performance analytics roles, so there's room to develop deeper expertise depending on your interests. You'll work a rotating DuPont schedule—12-hour shifts cycling through days and nights with built-in extended time off—which suits people who prefer structured, predictable rotations over traditional schedules.
The role is best suited to someone with or willing to develop technical competency in grid operations, comfort with regulatory environments, and the discipline required for control room work. You need to be reliable for night and weekend shifts and capable of staying calm during outages and grid events. If you're drawn to renewable energy infrastructure, want hands-on experience in grid reliability, and thrive in structured operational environments, this is a concrete opportunity to build expertise in a growing field.
