About this role
Olsson's electrical engineering internship places you directly into healthcare facility design work—power distribution, lighting, and electrical modeling for hospitals and large commercial buildings. You'll spend your summer creating real construction documents and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit alongside experienced engineers, moving well beyond typical classroom projects into work that shapes how these facilities actually function.
The role suits someone pursuing an electrical or architectural engineering degree who already has solid technical foundations: proficiency in Microsoft Office, ideally some CAD experience, and the ability to communicate clearly within a collaborative team. Olsson emphasizes ownership and impact, so you should be someone who cares about the quality of your work and how it affects the communities these buildings serve.
Based in Omaha, this is a full in-office internship with a firm that's been around since 1956 and invests in developing its people. While the posting doesn't specify compensation or hours, interns at Olsson gain exposure to meaningful project work and the chance to test whether healthcare or commercial facilities engineering aligns with your career interests.
