About this role
Morrison-Maierle's civil engineering internship in Sheridan puts you on active projects across transportation, infrastructure, water systems, and development—the kind of work that directly shapes communities. You'll move beyond theory by collaborating with design teams, observing construction firsthand, and learning how consulting engineers actually integrate design with real-world building. The firm emphasizes mentorship and long-term career development, so this isn't just summer work; it's structured exposure to the full scope of civil engineering practice, from CAD and planning through contract administration and regulatory compliance.
The role suits someone currently pursuing a civil engineering or related degree who's genuinely curious about how projects move from concept to completion. You'll need basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, a valid driver's license, and the initiative to absorb lessons from experienced professionals. At $21–$24 per hour depending on experience, this is an in-office position where you'll strengthen both technical knowledge and communication skills by working alongside engineers, project managers, and contractors.
Morrison-Maierle is employee-owned and ranks among Engineering News-Record's top 500 firms, with a stated focus on people-first culture and mentorship. If you want hands-on civil engineering experience in a firm with genuine staying power and a collaborative environment, this internship offers real depth.
