About this role

Kidango, the Bay Area's largest nonprofit child care provider, is seeking a Teacher Aide for its Mayfair preschool location in San Jose. You'd work full-time supporting classroom teachers in a mission-driven environment serving primarily low-income families. The role involves hands-on work with young children across the full day—planning and preparing activities aligned with early childhood development, supervising classroom time and outdoor play, managing transitions and meals, and handling personal care tasks like diapering and toileting. You'd also observe and document children's progress, maintain the learning environment, communicate with parents, and support children with diverse needs, including disabilities and language barriers.

The position requires 6 ECE units and a high school diploma or GED; prior experience working with young children is preferred, as is bilingual Spanish/English capability. You'll need to pass a background check, TB test, and health screening, hold a valid driver's license, and be current on immunizations per state requirements. The role demands flexibility with scheduling and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally. Compensation is $30.29 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to contribute directly to children's development and family support in your community.
