About this role
Machinify's DRG Manager role sits at the intersection of clinical expertise and team leadership within their healthcare intelligence platform. You'd own the development and ongoing management of DRG validation solutions—MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and related clinical review processes—while leading a team responsible for claims auditing and recovery. This means balancing hands-on technical work (enhancing clinical solutions, monitoring regulatory changes, conducting complex analyses) with people management, operational oversight, and cross-functional collaboration across product, technology, and operations teams.
The position demands deep expertise in healthcare payment methodologies, DRG classification systems, and claims auditing, backed by at least five years in healthcare billing and coding plus three years in claims auditing. You'd need proven ability to work independently on complex analytical problems, familiarity with industry tools like Milliman and InterQual guidelines, and strong knowledge of Medicare and commercial coding rules. Beyond the technical foundation, you'll need demonstrated leadership experience, comfort managing team performance and professional development, and the ability to communicate clinical and operational findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
This is a fully remote role across the US, offering a salary range of $125,000–$140,000 alongside standard benefits including medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, and unlimited PTO. It suits someone with substantial healthcare reimbursement background who's ready to step into a management position at a company serving over 85 health plans representing 270 million lives.
