MDD, A Davies Company is a specialised forensic accounting firm offering business valuations, forensic investigations and litigation support services. With more than 40 offices on 5 continents, our forensic accountants specialise in a wide range of practice areas. Our assignments consist of disputes in commercial litigation, family law, fraud, business valuations, business disputes, natural and man-made catastrophes, lost profits, and insurance.
Our partners and senior staff regularly provide extensive litigation services and expert witness testimony in courts, arbitrations and mediations throughout the world. The role of Staff Accountant requires the successful candidate to have strong numeracy, communication and analytical skills and be capable of working in teams and independently when required. The role takes on highly administrative, analytical tasks, and sometimes high-volume tasks to support our client's brief - please make sure you are comfortable with this.
This is a full-time role and will be hybrid from the Singapore office. Occasional overseas travel is required. Intermediate analysis of sales, production and other accounting data provided by clients or obtained through research to provide accurate analysis of likely business performance Physical inventory observation, price testing Examination of source documents pertinent to engagement, invoice analysis Checking and proofing reports and schedules Conducting phone or in person interviews to obtain information Attend marketing events and functions with clients Accounting, finance or law-related degree 18 months+ work experience; consulting or Big4 experience highly advantageous Working towards (or willing to commit to obtaining) an accounting qualification or designation Strong attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities A strong team-player who can also work independently and take ownership of own deliverables Confident communicator who is happy to engage with stakeholders internal and external of MDD Must be able to work under pressure or tight deadlines Ability to learn and understand how loss events may impact a business IT literate with good MS office skills.
Accounting software experience, a plus! Vietnamese, Tagalog or Bahasa Indonesia language skills will be considered beneficial but are not essential. International travel required

As a Staff Accountant in Singapore, you would support high-stakes assignments across litigation, fraud investigation, business valuation, and insurance claims by conducting detailed financial analysis, examining source documents, observing inventory, and interviewing clients. The work blends structured analytical tasks with client-facing interaction—you might analyze sales and production data one day and attend a client event the next—so comfort with variety and administrative rigor is essential.
The ideal candidate holds an accounting, finance, or law degree and brings at least 18 months of professional experience, ideally from consulting or a Big Four firm. You should be working toward or committed to obtaining an accounting qualification, have sharp attention to detail and problem-solving instincts, and be proficient in Excel and accounting software. This is a team environment that also demands independent ownership; you'll need to communicate confidently with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, stay composed under deadline pressure, and be willing to travel occasionally, including internationally. Additional language skills in Vietnamese, Tagalog, or Bahasa Indonesia are a bonus but not required.
