About this role
GovTech is seeking a Deputy Director to lead Salesforce engineering at the Ministry of Education, where you'll oversee the design and delivery of Education Cloud platforms serving schools and educators across Singapore. This role combines technical leadership with people management: you'll direct a team of Salesforce engineers, set architectural standards, and own end-to-end solution delivery while ensuring systems remain secure, scalable, and production-ready at national scale.
The position demands 5–8 years of hands-on Salesforce development and at least 2 years leading technical teams. You'll need strong expertise in Salesforce architecture, Apex, Lightning Web Components, and APIs, alongside proven experience delivering large-scale, high-availability systems in Agile environments. Beyond technical depth, you'll translate complex educational and business needs into maintainable designs, mentor engineers across experience levels, and collaborate closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to balance delivery speed with long-term sustainability.
This is an in-office role suited to someone who thrives in both technical problem-solving and team development, with an interest in public sector impact. Government or mission-critical systems experience, plus Salesforce certifications, would strengthen your candidacy.
