Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Our jobs aren’t just about giving guests a clean room and a freshly made bed. Instead, we want to build an experience that is memorable and unique. Our Guest Environment Experts are skilled in a wide range of housekeeping functions with responsibility for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the whole hotel. They are empowered to move about their space and do what needs to be done. Whether delivering guest requests, stocking carts, cleaning rooms and public spaces, or other similar responsibilities, the Guest Environment Expert makes sure the spaces in the hotel help create a great guest experience.

No matter what position you are in, there are a few things that are critical to success – ensuring a safe work place, following company policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality, upholding quality standards, and ensuring your uniform, personal appearance, and communications are professional. Guest Environment Experts will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time) and taking a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance). Doing all these things well (and other reasonable job duties as requested) is critical for Guest Environment Experts – to get it right for our guests and our business each and every time.

At Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all and providing access to opportunity. We actively foster an environment where the unique backgrounds of our associates are valued and celebrated. Our greatest strength lies in the rich blend of culture, talent, and experiences of our associates. We are committed to non-discrimination on any protected basis, including disability, veteran status, or other basis protected by applicable law.

About this role

At The Ritz-Carlton's Singapore location, this full-time role goes beyond routine cleaning. As a Guest Environment Expert, you'll maintain both guest rooms and public spaces throughout the hotel while actively shaping the experience that makes stays memorable. The position requires you to be self-directed—moving through your assigned areas to identify and address what needs attention, whether that's fulfilling specific guest requests, restocking supplies, or ensuring every surface meets the hotel's standards. You'll work closely with guests and colleagues to support the overall quality that defines the property.

The work is physically demanding and hands-on. You'll spend extended periods on your feet, moving between rooms and common areas, and regularly lifting, carrying, and placing items up to 50 pounds. Beyond the physical demands, success depends on strict adherence to safety protocols, company procedures, and confidentiality standards, along with maintaining professional appearance and communication at all times. This role suits someone who takes pride in detailed work, can work independently within a structured environment, and understands that housekeeping is central to guest satisfaction.

Pay for this role

The employer didn't post a pay range for this role. That usually means pay is set in negotiation, which favors whoever arrives with numbers. Check ranges on comparable Hotel Cleanliness Expert postings in your area, and analyze any offer before you accept it.
