About this role
If you have solid payroll accounting experience and thrive working with precise financial data, the JW Marriott Berlin is looking for a Payroll Expert to manage compensation for its 250-person team. You'll handle variable payroll recording—vacation, hours, sick leave—verify pay stubs for accuracy, and coordinate with the HR team to send payroll data to the central processing hub in Eschborn using Strada software. The role also requires you to stay current with German labor, income tax, and social security regulations, support monthly and annual financial closings, and serve as the go-to resource for employee payroll questions.
This is a part-time, permanent position suited to someone with at least one prior payroll role, ideally in hospitality. You'll need strong analytical skills, fluency in German and English, and the ability to remain detail-oriented under pressure. A background in hotel or restaurant operations, business administration, or certified payroll qualifications would strengthen your candidacy, though the employer is open to relevant professional experience in lieu of formal credentials.
Beyond the work itself, the JW Marriott offers a competitive package: permanent contract, performance bonuses, subsidized wellness membership, 30 days of vacation, covered public transport or parking, and access to Marriott's global employee discounts and online training. You'd be based in central Berlin, between Kurfürstendamm and the Brandenburg Gate.
