You would diagnose and repair complex electrical problems, maintain critical infrastructure including panels, emergency power systems, and motors, and handle both routine preventive maintenance and urgent after-hours emergencies. The role demands expertise in low- and high-voltage systems, fire safety interfaces, and building automation, with responsibility for ensuring all work meets NEC, OSHA, and NFPA standards while keeping detailed records for regulatory compliance.
This position requires a Journeyman Electrician's License (or Master's, depending on state requirements) and at least five years of progressively responsible electrical experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings. You'll need strong troubleshooting skills, proficiency reading blueprints and schematics, and hands-on competence with CMMS and digital testing tools. The work is physically demanding—lifting up to 75 pounds and working from ladders regularly—and includes participation in an on-call rotation for evening and weekend coverage to maintain campus continuity.
The role suits an experienced electrician comfortable working in varied, technically complex environments and ready to take on both planned projects and emergency response. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required, along with passing a background check and drug screening.
