About this role
University of Tennessee at Martin is hiring two Maintenance Helpers for logistical services based in Memphis. The role centers on physical movement and transport work: moving office furniture, lab and medical equipment, and university supplies between locations; driving UT vehicles to facilitate transfers and storage; setting up or breaking down equipment for campus events; and assisting with construction site cleanup. You'll also handle seasonal maintenance like clearing snow and ice from parking areas and walkways.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least six months of prior experience in moving or a closely related field, and a valid driver's license. You'll need to be comfortable operating a standard shift truck, lifting up to 75 pounds regularly, and sustaining physical labor both indoors and outdoors for extended periods. Strong verbal communication is important for coordinating with colleagues and departments across campus.
This is a full-time, in-office role suited to someone with hands-on logistics or moving experience who is physically capable and reliable. If you have the required work history and are looking for steady employment in a university environment, this could be a solid fit.
