About this role

At the University of Tennessee at Martin, this Associate Professor role combines research leadership with teaching and institutional service in physiology. You would develop and maintain an externally funded research program focused on cardiovascular science, leveraging the department's strong resources and the collaborative opportunities available across the UTHSC campus and regional medical institutions. The position includes a competitive start-up package designed to support your research launch.

Teaching responsibilities span medical, dental, and graduate students, so you'll need both research expertise and the ability to communicate physiology effectively across different learner levels. The role expects you to secure national funding and produce a strong publication record—this is a research-intensive position suited to someone with a PhD, MD, or equivalent who has already demonstrated success in both areas.

If you're an early-career researcher ready to establish an independent program with institutional backing and access to clinical partnerships, this could be a strong fit. The search remains open, so timing is flexible for the right candidate.
